Cherise has been Vegan for 6 years now and started her process like many. At a certain point, Cherise wanted to stop eating meat. After eating meat for so many years she noticed that there was a “Key factor here, all the things I have not liked lately has been meat, so I just cut it out.” Slowly cutting things out and replacing them with what she would eat regularly.
Daly grew up in Monmouth County NJ in a family that had a variety of backgrounds in food. “I grew up with my grandparents. Who were in the army, they traveled all over the world. So they collected a lot of good recipes and stuff like that. And my grandmother was German, like from Germany, and my grandfather was from the south. And we just had such good food all the time. And it was all very meat heavy.
So when I started cooking vegan, I was like, Do I just eat vegetables?” Making vegan food and making sure it tastes like home become her love of art. In doing so she founded a blogger called ” vegan in NJ” a website she started to help others on the journey. Daly started learning not only about food but also about how some facial products were made from animal products, in doing so she switched to vegan beauty products.
Cherise volunteers at animal sanctuaries and rescue, there she has learned and shared her love for animals. Cherise does not only have a passion for veganism, she chooses to make it her lifestyle. With her blog, Cherise has created a community of people who help each other through the journey. Her website provides information for vegan food articles to maps of vegan restaurants, also one of the most used tools on her website, check it out. Cherise stresses the importance in having a supportive community, having people to share recipes and ideas with.
